- Title: Hawaii Five-0 – Makaukau ‘oe e Pa’ani?
- wiki: link
Hawaii Five-0 returns for its Seventh Season with McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Danny (Scott Caan) both recovering from surgery. While Danny cautions taking things slow, McGarrett rushes full-on into the latest case involving a mysterious vigilante killing serial killers and leading Five-0 to the mens’ victims. Over the course of the episode Five-0 will discover multiple sets of victims while their new adversary will taunt them leaving two serial killers in the cops’ lap to find. As the case becomes a media circus McGarrett gets a personal call from the new Governor (Rosalind Chao) wanting to case dealt with as quickly, and quietly, as possible.
Along with setting up someone new for Five-0 to chase over multiple episodes, “Makaukau ‘oe e Pa’ani?” is notable for a bizarre sequence involving an injured McGarrett having a conversation with a CGI Jack Lord (the deceased actor who played the role in the original series). The sequence isn’t connected to any other piece of the episode, nor do McGarrett’s doubts show up at any other time, and when exactly the scene is supposed to have taken place is very unclear. Also a bit odd is Five-0’s chase of a Parkour expert through the streets. While providing visually impressive stunts, the episode never attempts to explain just who this guy was (or his uncanny athleticism).
