- Title: Hawaii Five-0 – Kanaka Hahai
- wiki: link
When two men turn up in the ocean, one of who was officially executed years ago, both tied to a ship officially in dry dock for the last decade, Five-0 uncovers the ugly truth behind a slave ship which only one of men was able to escape alive. Despite coming clean about working undercover to take down Five-0, Abby (Julie Benz) is offered a spot on the team when she tossed away her career in San Fransisco by refusing to continue the witch hunt any longer. Deciding to stick around, she joins the investigation to find the slave ship which Five-0 discovers is connected to their old friend Graham Clark.
The episode’s B-story begins with Danny‘s (Scott Caan) family day with Grace (Teilor Grubbs) and Charlie (Zach Sulzbach) being interrupted by the theft of his car. Things get even more serious when it’s used in an armed robbery and Danny commandeers a bus to follow the thieves. Through a series of misadventures Danny finds himself in the middle of the woods with a bow, a new friend (Cooper Andrews) and no gun, badge, or support on the way.
Although not as lighthearted as it starts out to be, Danny’s storyline does lighten the episode a bit given the darker elements involving the slave ship which the rest of the team is involved in taking down. The choice to keep Abby around is a good one, and not entirely unexpected, but given Chin Ho‘s (Daniel Dae Kim) bad luck with girlfriends I have to wonder how long it will be before she too falls prey to some unfortunate end.
