As Mr. Shuester (Matthew Morrison) returns to McKinley and finalizes plans for his upcoming wedding with Emma (Jayma Mays), several old members of New Directions (Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Dianna Agron, Amber Riley) return for the big day. However, there is some trouble between the bride and Will’s best man after a lonely and confused Finn (Cory Monteith) kisses Emma days before the wedding.
Rachel (Michele) helps a guilty Finn chose and perform Bog Seger‘s “We Got Tonite” at the reception. Ryder (Blake Jenner) helps Jake (Jacob Artist) plan a series of romantic Valentine’s week gestures for Marley (Melissa Benoist) including staging a performance of “You’re All I Need to Get By” in history class with the help of Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Artie (Kevin McHale). Wedding day craziness includes Sue (Jane Lynch) showing up in an exact copy of Emma’s wedding dress and Emma’s last-minute panic attack which leads her to run from the church minutes before the ceremony is scheduled to start.
Will leaves in search of Emma while the reception rolls on without them or, you know, an actual wedding to celebrate. The reception is memorable for Sue tossing the bouquet that lands in Rachel’s hands, Tina (Tina Cohen-Chang) confronting Curt (Colfer) about her feelings for Blaine (Darren Criss), a drunken Finn making a play for his former fiance, and several hookups later that night including Finn and Rachel, Blaine and Curt, Artie and Emma’s niece (Ali Stroker), and, most unexpected of all, Quinn (Agron) and Santana (Rivera).
Other performances include Will and Emma’s duet of the original song “Getting Married Today,” Marley, Artie and Jake leading the New Directions in a performance of Ellie Goulding‘s “Anything Could Happen,” and at the reception Blaine and Curt perform Depeche Mode‘s “Just Can’t Get Enough.”
