- Title: Galavant – World’s Best Kiss

The second episode of the show’s Second Season gets back in the groove as Galavant (Harry Collett) and Richard‘s (Timothy Omundson) journey continues, Gareth (Vinnie Jones) struggles with both Madalena (Mallory Jansen) and his role in the kingdom – offering Sid (Luke Youngblood) a temporary position (before being thrown into the moat), and Isabella‘s (Karen David) continued attempts to free herself from Prince Harry‘s court. Although the premiere had its moments, “World’s Best Kiss” does a better job of recapturing the magic of he show’s First Season.
Giving us the big number the premiere lacked, Galavant and Isabella sing a duet as with reflection both realize the pair’s magical first kiss wasn’t all that magical. Further bungling the pair’s attempt to get back together is fortune teller’s (Simon Callow) spotty broadcast signal (i.e. bad cell reception through the use of his staff and Isabella’s new, but not really new, gem) that allows the lovers to talk over great distances but misconstrue what each other is saying. Along with meeting the fortune teller, the wanderers’ stop in town also allows the show to return to a running gag from the show’s First Season concerning Richard’s virginity (which the deposed king can’t hide from an unicorn) and foreshadows a possible real arc for the character when he pulls the Hero’s Sword from a stump. Could the cowardly king actually become the hero of the story? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
