- Title: Elementary – The Best Way Out Is Always Through
- wiki: link
While working with Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) to investigate the murder of a judge, which may or may not have been committed by a recent prison escapee, Marcus Bell (Jon Michael Hill) learns a disturbing truth about his girlfriend (Afton Williamson) who has hidden from him the fact that she works for Internal Affairs. Deducing the escapee is nothing more than a patsy, and finding her discarded body still on prison grounds, leads Holmes to the real reason behind multiple murders. Marcus’ love life, on the other hand, will take longer to figure out.
“The Best Way Out Is Always Through” also includes a fun subplot involving Holmes coming into position of the Stanley Cup whose authenticity he continues to test over the course of the episode before determining it is indeed the real deal. The introduction of Shauna (Williamson) introduces an intriguing, if complicated, new character into the role of Bell (particularly due to the fact that there is still a large contingent who aren’t happy with the way in which Holmes performs his investigation). The pair have nice chemistry on-screen and I’m hopping we see more of Shauna in the future.
