- Title: Echo – Lowak

The second episode of Echo is most notable for Maya Lopez‘s (Alaqua Cox) rather ridiculous stunt placing explosives on a moving train (are you telling me this was the easiest method?). The stunt is done well enough, but it takes more than a little disbelief (along with totally oblivious guards working for a man who would kill them for their ineptitude) that you’ll have to overlook in order to accept it. It also puts everyone she’s ever loved in danger, which is perplexing as we learn there were plenty of stops along the rail line which she could have targeted rather than her home town and her choice only furthers the chance of danger finding her family.
At the end of that sequence we see Maya unconsciously tap into the power of the first Choctaw, which (based on what we’ve been shown on-screen) apparently can be used to cheat at sporting events and as a reward for putting your tribe in danger. We also spend more time with Skully (Graham Greene) who appears to be the go to guy for any possible needs from a borescope camera to engineering Maya not one but two replacement legs for the one she damages during her nighttime excursion. While the scenes with Biscuits (Cody Lightning) are meant to be goofy, doing an awful job hiding the damage to his truck and Maya’s reappearance, many of the more serious moments unfortunately fall into this category as well in the lead up to Maya starting a war with Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio).
