Everything has been leading to this point. Laios (Damien C. Haas), Marcille (Emily Rudd), Senshi (SungWon Cho), and Chilchuck (Casey Mongillo) spring their trap on the Red Dragon only to discover they have drastically underestimated their opponent and need to quickly regroup to survive. The fight with the dragon is impressive, but more important to the overall story comes after the defeat as the party carves their way through the dragon’s chest only to find that Falin (Lisa Reimold) has already been completely digested.
Failure, however, isn’t an option for Marcille who uses dark magic and the the still warm body of the dragon as fuel to bring their friend back to life. Falin appears no worse off for the experience, or Marcille’s spell, but does seem full of a magic that can’t quite be explained. Snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat, Falin has returned to their party to the delight of everyone, although Marcille is slightly miffed to see how quickly her best-friend takes to the party’s manner of feasting on monsters. The meal we get consists of roasted dragon meat, onion bread pizza (cooked in the flaming carcus of the dragon), and dragon tail soup.
With their friend returned, the party’s quest is now complete. However, they still do need to journey back out of the dungeon. There are also other characters we’ve seen introduced, including the elf at the end of the episode, that may cross their paths at some point, and there’s the fallout from Marcille’s spell for both herself and Falin.
