- Title: Continuum – Last Minute

Capping what has been an impressive Third Season, “Last Minutes” forces Kiera (Rachel Nichols) into making some hard decisions both about her present and the future she’s been trying to return to for three years. It all begins when Kiera and Brad‘s (Ryan Robbins) escape from the world is interrupted by time-traveling Alec (Erik Knudsen) and Emily (Magda Apanowicz) who barely survived an attack orchestrated the other Alec Sadler. The attack added to Halo’s imminent launch decades too early force Kiera to seek out help from the most unlikely of places.
After spending three years hunting them, Kiera enlists the help of Travis (Roger Cross), Garza (Luvia Petersen), and Lucas (Omari Newton) and embrace their message of creating a better future. With the help of Carlos (Victor Webster) the group stages an assassination of Alec which allows them to substitute one Mr. Sadler for the other. What they don’t take into account the thoroughness of Alec Sadler’s plans, which mean in short order two Alec’s are fighting to the death inside Piron, and Kellog‘s (Stephen Lobo) maneuverings which give him control of Piron and means despite all their efforts the dark future that they had hoped hasn’t been stopped.
The season has slowly chipped away at Kiera’s resolve at saving her own timeline. From her time jump and working with, and later betraying, the Freelancers to now joining with Liber8 the season finale sets the series on its ear leaving a chilling epilogue and much work to be done by Kiera and her new friends when the show (hopefully) returns for a Fourth Season and more time-travel unraveling. The death of one Alec may lead to less complications for Kiera, but with the unscrupulous Kellog in charge of Piron leading to a dark future possibly both caused and controlled by him, things are likely to get worse before they get better.
