- Title: Chuck – Chuck Versus Sarah

Nicholas Quinn (Angus Macfadyen) has used the Intersect to remove Sarah’s (Yvonne Strahovski) memories of Chuck (Zachary Levi) and the last five years. He’s rebooted her back to the spy she was at the beginning of the series and set her sites on the man he tells her is responsible – Charles Bartowski.
The series’ penultimate episode is very much a slow burn as we wait half the episode for Sarah to turn on her temmates at the worst possible moment – by stealing the last Intersect Chuck has planned to destroy. That kick in the gut hurts our hero far more than Sarah beating the crap out of him later in the episode.
Give little options, especially after Sarah kidnaps Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) as leverage, a plan is put in place to take Sarah down with several snipers including Casey (Adam Baldwin) ready to take necessary steps to save Ellie, but despite Sarah’s actions, and the immediate danger to his sister, Chuck still can’t give up on his wife.
The episode ends with one last unsuccessful attempt by Chuck to remind Sarah of her former life, and Casey giving Sarah her mission logs for “Project Bartowski.” Although the episode doesn’t with remembering more of her life, she does finally believe Chuck’s story as the series moves into it’s finale.
During the final two episodes we see several callbacks to the shows memorable moments. “Chuck Versus Sarah” not only returns the more hardcore Sarah from the show’s beginnings but gives her a chance to recreate the show’s first action sequence that featured Bryce Larkin (Matt Bomer) breaking out of the facility after stealing the Intersect.
On its own it “Chuck Versus Sarah” may not be a great episode but it works well, has some wonderful callbacks to the show’s earlier days, and does a great job setting up all the final pieces in motion for the series finale.
This so was so good. I miss it.
