- Title: Castle – For Better or Worse

With only 72 hours before they are scheduled to walk down the aisle Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett‘s (Stana Katic) wedding plans hit a snag when Kate discovers she’s already married to a college boyfriend (Eddie McClintock), and two-time loser with an impressive rap sheet, much to the amusement of Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas). Leaving Castle in Manhattan to finalize the plans, Beckett heads upstate to find Rogen and get a quickie divorce.
What should be a relatively simple job of getting a single signature quickly complicated when Rogen asks Beckett to steal something from his girlfriend (Scottie Thompson) and then is kidnapped in the middle of the night by two masked men. There’s also the matter of the biker gang looking for Rogen and the $5,000 he owes them for stealing a stripper’s (Sarah Karges) phone. Leaving Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) and Martha (Susan Sullivan) to work though a last-minute wedding glitch which leaves them without a venue, Castle heads north to help his fiance find her deadbeat husband.
While dealing with news from Lanie (Tamala Jones) that her wedding dress has been ruined by a ruptured pipe in her apartment, Beckett relies on the help of Tory Ellis (Maya Stojan) to help uncover the stripper’s blackmail scheme of a local priest (Randy Oglesby) which lead them to Rogen who they discover has been kidnapped by a mob hitman (R. D. Call). Who, of course, takes the couple hostage during their rescue attempt of Kate’s husband. Nothing is ever simple with these two, especially in a season finale.
Despite the odds, with some quick thinking and the help of their friends, the couple manages to extricate themselves from yet another life-threatening situation in time for their wedding day. As the pair’s path to just getting to their wedding day was filled with landmines why should their wedding be any different? The episode ends on a cliffhanger with Castle forced off the road on the way to the wedding and Kate arriving in time to find the wreckage still burning. We’ll have to wait until Fall for Kate to discover Castle isn’t in the car and for us to learn just who was responsible for Castle’s abduction. I have my guess.
