- Title: Blindspot – Heave Fiery Knot

Given the mission from Sandstorm, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and the FBI investigate one of her tattoos that leads the team to a corrupt DEA agent (Ed Moran) selling government-captured guns, including stinger missiles, to drug cartels. Continued to be frozen out by her former friends (who let her be tortured in a CIA black site for months) while seeing the the Sandstorm missions expose corruption and take down dangerous people, Jane continues her internal debate on which side she should be fighting. Weller‘s (Sullivan Stapleton) distancing while dealing with his father’s death and the truth about the woman he hoped Jane Doe was isn’t helping matters.
Various B-stories of “Heave Fiery Knot” include Patterson (Ashley Johnson) getting a new admirer, Reade‘s (Rob Brown) past continuing to haunt him as his attempt to get justice for an old friend (Daniel J. Watts) doesn’t go as planned, and Roman‘s (Luke Mitchell) need to protect his sister leads to some friction with Sheppard (Michelle Hurd). The episode also let us on the fact that despite her attempts to befriend Jane, Naz Kamal (Archie Panjabi) may not be as trustworthy a source as the FBI hopes. And, despite her sales pitch, at this point in the game Jane doesn’t have much reason to trust the FBI (who barely tolerate her while alternatively treating her like shit) over Sandstorm (whose actions and deeds, other than erasing her entire memory, have been far kinder to Jane).
