While redoing her room, Alex (Selena Gomez) stumbles upon a magic carpet which she guilts her father into teacher (David DeLuise) her to ride. However, the situation raises tensions between the two with her father struggling about letting his little girl grow up. Along with the carpet, the episode is also notable for Justin (David Henrie) helping her sister, both in learning how to fly the carpet and attempting to help her lower the tensions with their father. Given less time is Justin’s attempt to redecorate his own room to be more manly and grown-up which only ends up frightening him.

While initially happy in a world where her parents don’t worry about magic, or anything else, Alex and Justin (David Henrie) decide to set things right after the pair show no concern with them leaving their younger brother on Mars (where the jumped to for a quick look for his school project).

Hoping to spend more time with her best-friend, Alex (Selena Gomez) convinces her parents to hire Harper (Jennifer Stone) only to discover she’s the worst waitress who ever lived. However, a quick bit of magic fixes that. Although the new Harper is less interested in spending time with her friend than being amazing at her job. The B-story involves Justin (David Henrie) starting a tutoring business only to draw the ire of a little kid who attempts to bully him into sharing his profits.

Austin) being at odds with their sister and taking some retaliatory action against Alex (Selena Gomez) after she uses a Pocket Elf to cheat on her Spanish test.

Wayback Wednesday takes us back to a family of wizards living in Waverly Place. Lucy Hale guest-stars in “First Kiss” as Justin‘s (David Henrie) new girlfriend Miranda who he’s too shy to kiss. As with the first episode of the series, as spell used unwisely will play into the proceedings when Alex (Selena Gomez) keeps turning back time to give her brother the opportunity to get the kiss right. Sitcom shenanigans are everywhere in the various ways the kiss goes wrong and in the episode’s B-plot which involves Max‘s (Jake T. Austin) crazy sandwich creation catching on with a rep for the NY Mets only to have the rebooted time ruin any chance of it becoming the official sandwich for the baseball team.
