The Mentalist - Red John's Rules

After spending a week in isolation Jane (Simon Baker) has narrowed the list of Red John‘s identity down to seven possible suspects. However, before he can share his findings the serial killer strikes again by killing a young woman connected to the mentalist’s past. Following the clues left by Red John, Jane and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) head to Carson Springs’ Child Protective Services and learn the name of the dead woman and her missing baby. The head of the agency (Laura San Giacomo) points them in the direction of the victim’s abusive husband (Scott Anthony Leet) and a trip home for Jane and a reunion with a pair of old friends (M.C. Gainey, Tangie Ambrose).

After LaRoche‘s (Pruitt Taylor Vince) home is broken into and he manages to kill one of the perpetrators, he requests Jane‘s (Simon Baker) involvement on the case to find the man who got away (with the mysterious Tupperware box that Jane learned of when he hired someone to steal from investigator’s safe back in Season Three). The CBI are called in to investigate when the owner (Stephen Macht) of a run-down Wild West tourist down is found murdered in his office. Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) talk to the victim’s widow (Wendy Phillips) and son (Eyal Podell) as well as the rather odd Chief of Police (Antonio Jaramillo) to get a feel for the victim and the town. Cho (Harry Groener) talks with the head of the town’s Wild West show who had motive given the almost bankrupt victim’s plans to sell the land the that the Old West town stands on. Looking for other suspects, Jane and Lisbon head into the town’s saloon to talk with a local bar maid (Tamara Mello), but all they learn is the victim was generous to a fault and everyone, except perhaps their unknown killer, loved the man.

The Mentalist - Behind the Red Curtain

The CBI investigates the mysterious death of the leading actress in a local theater who was pushed to her death on opening night. Lisbon (Robin Tunney) talks with the victim’s Foster parent (Maggie Egan) who points the CBI in the direction of the girl’s violent ex-boyfriend (Derek Ray) who she believes may have assaulted her a week before the murder. The returning Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) puts the man at the gala on the night the victim was killed, but the boyfriend paints a far different story when he informs them he attended the party only to protect his girl from one of other cast members she believed was out to get her.
