“Why can’t anyone be dead today.”
Without a case to solve in days, and with boredom seeping in, Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) drags Watson (Lucy Liu) to the morgue looking for any unsolved death that may offer the promise of an interesting case. What they find is the hit-and-run of a former professional hitman who Holmes believes may have killed a man the day he died.

Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) investigate the murder of a CEO who was poisoned and then dressed up in S&M gear and found by a dominatrix (Keesha Sharp) to add further insult to injury by a killer who wanted the victim’s name drug through the mud after his body was found. Although Homles tracks down the man (Paul Fitzgerald) who dressed his dead employer in bondage gear, but despite having motive he isn’t their murderer. While investigating the crime Holmes crosses paths with the family’s nanny (Laura Benanti) who changed her name and disappeared 15 years ago after being accused and acquitted of murdering her father in a method nearly identical to the current crime.

Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) are hired to find a civil contractor (Christian Campbell) who has become national news after leaking classified information to the media, even though Holmes suspects the man (Ronald Guttman) who hired them, under an assumed name and questionable story, wishes the contractor nothing but ill will. While shadowing the reporter (Laura Osnes) who printed the man’s story, Holmes stumbles onto a collective of cyber-terrorists protecting the missing man, one of whom turns up dead.

While visiting his old stomping grounds Watson suggests Holmes use the opportunity to make amends to those his addiction has harmed which Sherlock takes to heart and decides to help the disgraced detective rather than bring him to justice.
