Hawaii Five-0 - Kahania

Offering the return of Michael Imperioli as local barber Odell Martin, the latest episode of Hawaii Five-0 focuses largely on McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) who finds himself in a stand-off with the barber and a young man (Steven Krueger) being hunted by the Armenian mob. Trapped in the barber shop without a phone (or any neighbor capable of hearing the hundreds of shots fired), Five-0’s commander manages to get all three men out alive, although a late twist puts the series of events in an entirely different perspective for McGarrett (as is evident by the episode’s tearful final reaction).

Past sins come back to haunt Five-0 as both Danny (Scott Caan) and Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) are arrested on separate charges. The idea of a member of Five-0 facing serious charges is hardly new as it’s become one of the show’s recurring themes (in fact it happens so often its almost unintentionally funny at this point). What offers a slight twist with “Pono Kaulike” is that in both instances the detectives are 100% guilty of the crimes of which they are accused as each tie back their actions following the kidnapping and murder of Danny’s brother.

Hawaii Five-0 - Kuka'awale

After another couple’s session McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Danny (Scott Caan) are forced to spend several days together on the stakeout of a woman (Jessica Lowndes) who helped rob a jewelry store. Although she attempted to kill her partner to keep the diamonds for herself, Five-0 is far more interested in the gunman from the robbery who decided to kill a former member of the local police. Using the suspect as bait the pair wait it out hoping her former partner, properly motivated after being shot, will show up for retaliation. The situation allows for several scenes of the partners’ trademark banter as well as something of a breakthrough when McGarrett lets down his guard for a moment.

Hawaii Five-0 - Nanahu

There are three stories of interest in the latest episode of Hawaii Five-0 which includes the return of a recurring character and two new guest-stars. In the case of the week Five-0 works with ATF Agent Kathy Millford (Melina Kanakaredes) who has come to the island to track down a serial arsonist and murderer now setting fires in Hawaii to watch young couples burn alive. Despite lying to Five-0 about being there in an official capacity, McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and his team accept the assistance of Millford whose knowledge of the arsonist proves invaluable (and also puts her in danger when the man targets a hotel for his next arson).
