Throwback Thursday takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. What starts out as a simple way to get rid of Steele (Pierce Brosnan) for a couple of hours and earn some nice publicity for the agency soon becomes more complicated when a murder is uncovered, Steele goes missing, and everyone involved has suspicious motives concerning land being donated to a wild life preserve for the bald eagle. Offering nods from everything from The Maltese Falcon to Chinatown, Steele begins enjoying himself a bit too much for Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) as he takes on more of a Sam Spade personality. His kidnapping, and the attempt to kill both Steele and Laura, are only minor speed bumps on the way to unmasking a killer.

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. Steele (Pierce Brosnan) throws a wrench into the agency’s latest case when the daughter (Frances Lee McCain) of a famous B-movie actress (Bibi Osterwald) hires the firm to find her missing mother. Playing up the woman’s senility, the daughter hopes to end her mother’s ill-conceived return to the silver screen. Steele, more than a little taken with one of his favorite actresses, believes the woman’s story about someone wanting to kill her and keeps the team on the case even after the actress is thrown in the looney bin for the murder of a publicist (Richard Backus) digging into the woman’s past.

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. After the host (Jeff Pomerantz) is murdered at a detective’s reunion, the guests, each with their own history and motive, agree to let Steele (Pierce Brosnan) solve the case. Suspects include a former detective (Philip Charles MacKenzie) ruined by the victim, the victim’s mistress (Carlene Watkins) whose affair the victim revealed to her husband, and the former employee (Arthur Rosenberg) who the victim took advantage of and never rewarded. In terms of motive, the only real weakness is the episode never suggests one for either Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) or Murphy (James Read).
