My Adventures with Superman - Pierce the Heavens, Superman!

Jimmy (Ishmel Sahid), Kara (Kiana Madeira), and a comatose Lois (Alice Lee) return to Earth only to be immediately captured by Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson) ignoring their threats of an imminent attack on Earth. They are quickly followed by Brainiac (Michael Emerson) still in control of Superman‘s (Jack Quaid) body who gives the Earth the choice to kneel or burn. While the trio is freed by their Daily Planet brethren, allowing Kara to attempt to stall Brainiac, the real fight takes place within Clark’s mind as Lois struggles to get him to remember who he is, his home, his family, and those who love him.

My Adventures with Superman - The Death of Clark Kent

Well, if you can’t come up with a good villain you can always turn Superman (Jack Quaid) into the villain, I guess. As Kara (Kiana Madeira)  helps Lois (Alice Lee) and Jimmy (Ishmel Sahid) sneak aboard the ship, Brainiac (Michael Emerson) works on Clark’s psyche finding a weakness in the recent disappointments concerning his friends and exploiting them. The episode ends with Brainiac now fully in control of Superman’s body laying the foundation for Lex Luthor (Max Mittelman) and Amanda Waller‘s (Debra Wilson) fears to come to pass with an invasion of Earth by “Superman.”

Leaving events on Earth alone (although we may catch up with those a bit in the next episode), “The Machine Who Would Be Empire follows Kara (Kiana Madeira) and Clark‘s (Jack Quaid) adventures in space where she eventually leads him to her “father” Brainiac (Michael Emerson) who wishes to rebuild the Kryptonian Empire. Through some sort of mind-control Brainiac has been using Kara not to bring planets in peacefully to the empire but to wipe them out completely (including Thanagar which the cousins visit). By the end of the episode Kara understands how she has been duped, but she need some help to save Superman (and the universe) from the AI.

“Most Eligible Superman” continues the rocky relationship road between Clark (Jack Quaid) and Lois (Alice Lee) as Cat Grant (Melanie Minichino) accompanies the two for an event to name Metropolis’ most eligible bachelor. Not believing he could possibly be single, Cat hopes to uncover who Superman might be dating. Trying to keep Cat off any scent of a Lois and Superman relationship, Superman does his best in the contest which earns the amorous attention of another contestant in Silver St. Cloud (Melanie Minichino), the ire of another contestant in Hank Henshaw (Jason Marnocha), and hurt feelings from his girlfriend.

There are two storylines at play in “Two Lanes Diverged.” The one which provides the episode its title revolves around the troubled relationship of General Lane (Joel de la Fuente) and his daughter Lois (Alice Lee). Along with the Sam’s decision to leave Lois alone again, we see flashbacks to her childhood involving the soldier pushing her survivalist skills and never letting her in on the nature of his work creating a lifelong resentment which leaves her alone once again when, despite her arguments over the course of the episode, he decides to leave her once again.
