Pretty Little Liars - Pretty Isn't the Point

As a desperate Hanna (Ashley Benson) reaches out to both a pageant coach (Jackie Debatin) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) to help prepare her for what’s ahead, Aria (Lucy Hale) enlists the help of Andrew (Brandon W. Jones) to spy on Mike (Cody Allen Christian) whose erratic behavior has made the Liars believe he is now working for A. While not doing any favors to any of the Liars‘ romantic lives, “Pretty Isn’t the Point” reveals Mike’s true motivations as well as what Mona (Janel Parrish) was up to at the time of her death (and why it took so long for Mike to begin grieving the loss of his girlfriend).

Pretty Little Liars - Out, Damned Spot

With Aria (Lucy Hale) obsessed with finding out what Mike (Cody Allen Christian) is up to, she and two of the other Liars will eventually uncover a secret meeting between Aria’s brother and Alison‘s (Sasha Pieterse) patsy Cyrus Petrillo (Jake Weary) raising even more questions as to whose side Mike is on. The fact that he delivered vials of blood from Aria, Spencer, and Hanna (Ashley Benson) which could be used to frame them for having a hand in Mona‘s (Janel Parrish) definitely seems to suggest that Mike is now working for A (who we see begin to make use of the blood in the episode’s closing scene).

Putting the ominous barrel on hold for most of the episode, although we do learn whose blood was left at the scene, the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars is driven by the return of one character, the bizarre actions of a supporting character, and the arrival in town of a friend of Mona (Janel Parrish) seeking the Liars. In the end each storyline will expose, introduce, or question something tied to the death of Mona, the belief that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) is A, and the identity of Alison’s agents outside of prison.

Pretty Little Liars - The Bin of Sin

Rarely over the show’s five seasons have the Liars done so much to hurt their own cause in so short a time. Last week’s discovery of A‘s stash of evidence connected to Mona‘s (Janel Parrish) murder sends Hanna (Ashley Benson) into a frenzy. Dragging Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) along for the ride, Hanna decides to destroy all the evidence inside the storage locker rented in her name including an ominous barrel which may or may not hold the remains of her friend. Sadly, in doing so she ties both herself and Caleb to the locker and its single remaining piece of evidence when Toby (Keegan Allen) and Tanner (Roma Maffia) run across them at the facility.

Pretty Little Liars - Over a Barrel

The first part of A‘s plan to implicate the Liars in the death of Mona (Janel Parrish) is revealed as Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) stumble upon a storage locker filled with evidence which could be used to frame any or all of the Liars for the murder including an ominous barrel just the right size to house the missing girl’s body. Given the fact that the locker was leased in her name it’s likely Hanna (Ashley Benson) is going to have far more trouble in the near future than worrying about who her mother is sleeping with or might be offering her a marriage proposal.
