Iron Man #200

Throwback Thursday takes us back to a classic comic featuring old Shell-Head. Released 37 years ago, Iron Man #200 brought the fight between a pissed-off Tony Stark and Obadiah Stane to a close. However, before the double-sized issue was done it will premiere a new set of armor for Iron Man in the Silver Centurion, with Tony Stark returning in the role for the first time in months, and see both the birth and death of the Iron Monger.

Iron Cat #2

The team -up of of Black Cat and Iron Man begins as the unlikely duo begin to work together to stop Tamara Blake and retrieve the Iron Cat armor she stole in order to avenge their shared mentor the Black Fox. The second issue fills in gaps for readers, offering us flashbacks to Felicia and Tamara’s shared past and plenty of examples how both characters think and act leading Felicia to set the kind of trap for her old friend she knows Tamara can’t ignore.

Iron Cat #1

Iron Cat #1 picks up a thread from two Black Cat series ago where Felicia Hardy created and stole her own version of armor from Tony Stark as part of the Black Fox’s final score. Now someone else has got that armor and are after the Black Cat.

As the Black Cat attempts to steal a diamond for the second time, the issue provides flashbacks to the first attempt more than a decade ago when she was still working with the Black Fox and Tamara Blake who blames Felicia for the Black Fox’s death and is out for revenge.

Devil’s Reign #2

Devil’s Reign continues with the heroes on the run (and others already in prison), Spider-Man being lured into a trap at The Daily Bugle to get the crap kicked out of him by Taskmaster, and the Kingpin making threats against Elektra. While Dr. Octopus engineers a way for the Mayor of New York to make use of the Purple Man to win the election, the heroes throw a swerve and decide it’s Luke Cage (instead of Tony Stark) who should run against him for control of the city.

This is your typical middle issue to a series laying foundation for conflict around the corner, suggesting Otto has his own plans for the technology offered him by the Baxter Building, and giving one hero a brutal ass-kicking. While Spidey is out, I don’t see Beyond or other heroes leaving him out to dry (as his identity would likely compromise others). So, who might show up for a save?
