Picking up in the middle of the battle started at the end of the last issue, Far Sector #7 turns Green Lantern Sojourner Mullein‘s attention on the @AT (City Enduring’s cyber race that are nourished by the very things the Emotional Exploit removes from society).

While fighting the suped-up construction suits, it doesn’t take long for Sojourner’s @AT contact CanHaz to identify that the biological people in the suit are already dead and only hosts for the @AT controlling the attack leading the Green Lantern to journey into the network itself in pursuit of the criminals and get a better picture of their world.

The latest DC 80th anniversary issue celebrates various Green Lantern characters including Alan Scott (the Golden Age Green Lantern who isn’t part of the Green Lantern Corps) but there are some notable absences of fan favorites as well such as Ch’p, Arisia Rrab, Katma Tui, Tomar-Re, G’nort, or Sojourner Mullein (who is at least included in a one-page art insert).

Along with the Alan Scott story, we get Earth’s greatest Green Lantern Hal Jordan in stories involving being trapped on a desolate world with his power ring running out, a team-up with Green Arrow written by Dennis O’Neil, and a story featuring Hal, John Stewart (who also gets a solo story), and Kyle Rayner (who sadly also gets a solo story) set years in the future.

Far Sector #6 offers a quiet, contemplative issue before its final pages set-up the series’ next big action sequence. In the wake of the riots, and the government’s brutal response to them (something all too topical considering what is happening now), the City Enduring’s referendum on the Emotion Exploit is less than a week away.

Neither the comic’s mysteries nor the politics of the alien world are explored much in the latest issue. Instead, Far Sector #6 turns inward to focus on its heroine and her struggle to deal emotionally with a charged situation millions of light years from Earth on the farthest reach of the galaxy.
