Scarlett #2

Having found them, Scarlett attempts to earn a place within Arashikage. First, that means staying alive and continuing to show off skills that might be useful to the clan. Destro #1

Destro #1

Set in the new combined G.I. JOE / Transformers Engergon Universe, Destro #1 works as a reintroduction to the character. Using the Energon supplied by Cobra Commander, Destro uses the new prototype B.A.T.s to settle a personal score and set up a relative on the throne of the Republic of Darklonia. The test is a mixed success, in taking over the country (but also having no control of the bloodthirsty soldiers who kill friend and foe indiscriminately) and also raises the ire of Cobra for such a public demonstration.

Scarlett #1

Launched as part of the new G.I. JOE / Transformers shared Energon Universe, Scarlett in essence breathes new life into the character giving us her last mission before joining G.I. G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #306

Despite his prominence on the cover, Snake Eyes doesn’t get a big role in G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #306. In fact we only get the Joe on a training course shooting some targets with an even shorter cameo from Scarlett. That’s indictive of the rest of the issue as well with jumps around quite a bit, almost like a checklist making sure to hit several plot points that may play off at a later date.

Cobra Commander #4

Cobra Commander #4

It’s fun seeing the various pieces introduced and connected in this Cobra prequel series for the shared Energon Universe. In Cobra Commander #4, Cobra Commander finds a scientist who has already started unlocking the vast power of Energon. Meanwhile Nemesis Enforcer takes care of any fight the Dreadnoks have left. This then leads to the expected confrontation between the Commander and Nemesis Enforcer, although there is a twist with the soldier from Cobra-La betraying the Commander rather than other way around.
