JOE: A Real American Hero #258 offers plenty of action as most of the comic takes place during the battle which sees the nearly-indestructible killer robot shoot down Cobra Rattlers and a fairly heroic move by Bombstrike, proving true to her name, to take the the enemy once and for all… or did she (after all, the story arc continues in the next issue)?

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero – Silent Option #2 continues the search for the Helix as the team of Dawn Moreno, Alpine, Throwdown, Topredo, and Bombstrike continue to follow the path of bodies the missing Helix leaves in her wake while targeting human traffickers.

Following evidence that Helix has been taken by the human trafficker she has been hunting, who has ties to both Firefly and the Red Ninjas, leads the team to an offshore oil platform where they will eventually find Helix, after slicing their way through an army of Red Ninjas, with a bomb strapped to her side and being thrown out of moving plane straight towards them.

The new four-part mini-series begins with Dawn Moreno‘s search for the missing Helix which will lead a small group of JOEs including Moreno, Alpine, Throwdown, Topredo, and Bombstrike to Trucial Abysmia, Borovia, and Scotland as the missing JOE has been keeping busy targeting human traffickers and leaving a path of bodies in her wake.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero – Silent Option #1 is a bloody and gritty issue (given its subject matter and level of violence, I’m a bit surprised it doesn’t have a mature reader tag on its cover). Although I like the characters assembled here, the first issue is entirely the JOEs playing catch-up and we still have yet to have an appearance by Helix.
