The Flash returns for its final season with a time loop episode where Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) will eventually learn to listen and work together by the end of the episode. The episode sees the return of well-intentioned Barry whose obsession with keeping to the existing timeline on-track causes friction at home and the exact opposite of his intentions. We also get a new Captain Boomerang (Richard Harmon), Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) training to use her powers, and in the epilogue a tease of a storyline involving Frost (Danielle Panabaker).

The Flash #282

Throwback Tuesday takes back to late 1979 to one of the first comics I ever owned featuring not one but two of my favorite comic heroes of all time. Set after the events of Iris West-Allen‘s death, The Flash #282 opens with the Flash escaping a death trap from the Reverse-Flash before sending the Scarlet Speedster on a wild goose chase in the future so his arch-nemesis can impersonate the Flash for his own purposes.

While Iris’ (Candice Patton) time sickness bounces her to the future where struggle to find a way to help, that same condition has affected the negative version of the Forces (Sara Garcia, Ennis Esmer, and Christian Magby) who make a trip to Lian Yu to kill Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) and then to S.T.A.R. Labs to kill the younger version (Matt Letscher) as well. In need of more speed, Barry‘s (Grant Gustin) training of Fast Track (Kausar Mohammed) takes a turn when he teaches her how to share her speed with Eobard (a really, really, really bad idea the episode races through without a second thought) leading to the apparent death of a major character and rebirth of another in the cliffhanger ending of “Part One.”
