Charlie's Angels - Dancing in the Dark television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. Despite it’s title, “Dancing in the Dark” does not involve the Angels working a Bruce Springsteen concert. Instead, the episode involves the Angels going after a blackmailing ring (run by John Van Dreelen and Dennis Cole) that targets lonely women in the public eye. Sabrina (Kate Jackson) goes in undercover as the mark, a socially awkward heiress to a large fortune, while Jill (Farrah Fawcett) becomes a dance instructor at the location where the blackmailers find their targets and Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) takes the place of the criminals’ private investigator (Logan Ramsey) who specializes in background checks and taking juicy photos for blackmail.

Charlie's Angels - The Vegas Connection television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. The unusual behavior of a client’s wife (Carla Borelli) leads them to a Las Vegas casino and an unscrupulous employee (Michael Callan) turning chorus girls into prostitutes and blackmailing the casino’s wealthiest and most well-known clients. Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) is the only one of the Angels to go undercover as a chorus girl willing to do what it takes to earn the job. Bosley (David Doyle) also breaks out his heavy Texas accent as a high roller and potential target for their blackmailer. As for Jill (Farrah Fawcett), she has a harrowing run-in with one of the blackmailer’s thugs in the casino’s parking lot that some quick thinking, fast driving, and the unexpected use of her purse help her survive.

Charlie's Angels - Dirty Business television review

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. While his mother is a sweet woman (Eda Reiss Merin), Marvin Goldman (Warren Berlinger) turns out to be in the running for Townsend Investigations’ scuzziest client. While operating a film laboratory, Marvin is also a blackmailer and pornographer which helps explain the attempt of someone trying to burn down the company (and Marvin’s reluctance to hire the Angels). “Dirty Business” is notable for none of the Angels going undercover, while Sabrina (Kate Jackson) and Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) both play a role in short separate scenes to illicit information, for the rest of the episode the Angels are working as themselves.

Charlie's Angels - Angels on a String TV review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. “Angels on a String” is a Sabrina (Kate Jackson) episode as the trio’s all-expenses-paid getaway-weekend takes an unexpected after Sabrina meets her idol (Theodore Bikel) and determines something is wrong by the man’s odd behavior the next day. Jackson’s full-on fangirling is cute as pie, while the plot also allows for a goofy disguise as she stands in as the gala’s worst waitresses. The episode does feature a twist as the Angels come to believe the political leader is being pressured because his son has been kidnapped, the truth is far more complicated as in involves a double and a public murder plot.
