Another of the wolf children’s adventures comes to a close as Connor finally has enough of spite and racism of his would-be mentor choosing instead to befriend another wanderer the pair cross paths with in the forest. And so it’s Old Sam who the cub brings home with him. Speaking of those returning home, Blossom returns home with a new boyfriend, and Ambrose makes plans for the library he found on his adventure.

Fables #155

Fables #155 continues to move the numerous storylines along incrementally without any getting much time. Ambrose is the first to return, easing his parents’ concern despite his other siblings still off on their own adventures. We see more than a few clues that the wandering hero Connor has decided to follow is anything but, and Jack continues settling into the odd modern world where Pan has shown up as well.

Fables #154

Although we don’t get any of Cinderella in the latest issue, several of the other stories inch forward with the forest creatures no to keen on their new neighbors, Jack setting out on her first quest, and the various separate adventures of the Wolf children. After a shocking twist to Ambrose‘s adventure, the monster gets a surprise of its own when it discovers its trapped houseguest is anything but.

Fables #153

While we get short appearances by Cinderella and our new Jack the Green, the main focus of Fables #153 is on the children of Bigby and Snow White who their father sends off separately to each have a fantastic adventure on their own. Snow isn’t overly enthused with her husband’s decision and it turns out she may have valid concerns.

Fables #152

Several storylines continue in the relaunched Fables title including the corpse of my favorite Fable of all, super-spy Cinderella, rising up in the medical examiner’s office and coming back to life in the mix of creepy fun fans of the comic have come to know and love. I’m not sure exactly what role she will play in the story to come, but it’s great to have her back.
