Delicious in Dungeon - Snacks/Sorbet

“Snacks/Sorbet” offers a different setup starting with an entirely different group of adventurers who get taking out by the very treasure they sought. Our party comes across their corpses and, after battling the living treasure, decides to make a meal out of the it which, while that sound painful to eat, apparently, like all of Senshi‘s (SungWon Cho) dishes, tastes delicious. Later, Senshi and Laios (Damien C. Haas) use home-made holy water, made in part from the treasure, to drive off ghosts attacking the party. The ghosts passing through the concoction has the odd effect to turn it into sorbet offering a pleasant dessert.

Delicious in Dungeon - Stewed Cabbage/Orcs

“Stewed Cabbage/Orcs” offers an explanation to where Senshi (SungWon Cho) acquires the vegetables he uses for so many of his recipes in an episode that also offers a nice teaching moment about living harmoniously in the natural world (even if that world is in a dungeon full of monsters). After harvesting his latest supply, the party runs into some of Senshi’s clients: a group of orcs on hard times. In this episode as well, we get a lesson about working together (even with people you might not immeadiately like) in order to produce positive results such as the feast even Marcille (Emily Rudd) can’t complain about.

Delicious in Dungeon - Living Armor

Living Armor would see an odd choice for a group of adventures who enjoying eating their kills in the dungeon but the walking  suits of armor are the creature of the episode as Laios (Damien C. While the others keep the various armor busy, Laios defeats the leader learning the secret of the creatures and discovering yet another delicacy one can only find in the dungeon. “Living Armor” also fills in a bit of the knight’s backstory.

Delicious in Dungeon - Roast Basilisk/Omelet/Kakiag

The party’s descent into the dungeon continues with three new recipes and challenges for the adventurers. Continuing to feel underappreciated, the annoying Marcille (Emily Rudd) makes a rather rash decision involving a giant bat that causes chaos but is ultimately helpful to the group. The episode is also notable for showcasing the trap prowess of Chilchuck (Casey Mongillo) who butts heads with the Senshi (SungWon Cho) over the dwarf not taking traps seriously, although the pair eventually come to and understanding and appreciation of each other’s skill sets. The pair’s verbal sparring is a nice visual representation of the show itself, in transforming a D&D adventure into something at least as equally centered around cooking and enjoying the sweet, sweet taste of monsters.

Delicious in Dungeon - Hot Pot/Tart

Featuring strong Dungeons & Dragons vibes, Delicious in Dungeon is an odd idea of giving us the adventures of a party that focuses at least as much on their travels through a dungeon as the various meals they make out of the creatures they kill. There are plenty of in-jokes for fans of D&D sprinkled throughout the first episode which introduces us to the remnants of a party that returns to a dungeon to rescue one of their members who is slowly being digested in the belly of a Red Dragon. Although unusual, it works.
