As Britta (Gillian Jacobs) helps Jeff (Joel McHale) spend Thanksgiving with his estranged father (James Brolin) and the half-brother (Adam DeVine) he’s never met, Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) invites the rest of the Study Group to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family. Trapped in a situation that makes their own family dinners look inviting by comparison, Abed (Danny Pudi) narrates his friends’ plan to survive the ideal and escape in a way designed not to hurt Shirley’s feelings.

Community - Alternative History of the German Invasion

After missing their chance to register for The History of Ice Cream the Study Group begins their European History class with the annoying Foosball-obsessed Germans (Chris Diamantopoulos, Alex Schemmer, Alex Klein) and taught by Greendale ‘s newest professor (Malcolm McDowell) who was fired from Cambridge after a “little slip-up with a coed,” and who challenges the class to examine history from the view of the vanquished as well as that of the victors. Although Abed (Danny Pudi) makes a friend when he realizes they’re both members of the same MMO guild, tensions rise when the Germans claim a piece of the study room for themselves and refuse to leave.

While taking elaborate steps to hide the current state of his relationship with Britta (Gillian Jacobs) from Abed (Danny Pudi), and failing, Troy (Donald Glover), Abed, Jeff (Joel McHale), Britta, and Annie (Alison Brie) head out to the InspecTiCon to celebrate the pair’s favorite show: Inspector Spacetime. Troy becomes jealous and suspicious of Abed’s new pen-pal Toby Davies (Chris Tallman), a rabid Inspector Spacetime fan whom he’s never mentioned before, with an unbelievable backstory. Britta counsels Troy to keep the crazy inside and “go all psycho-girlfriend” with Toby, but that’s far easier said than done.

Already dressed in their costumes, the group shows up only to have to search the dark and creepy house for the code necessary to release him from the panic room against Jeff’s (Joel McHale) objections who believes the entire situation reeks of one of Pierce’s usual set-ups.
