Investigating a string of robberies leads the Angels back their client’s (Gertrude Flynn) spiritual advisor (Carole Cook). While the con woman isn’t the source of the robberies, her silent partner (Rene Auberjonois) is, and he has found a way to hypnotize his subjects to both make the seances more dramatic and to instruct his victims into delivering high-priced jewelry to him. Charlie’s Angels vs. The Bionic Woman #1

Charlie's Angels vs. The Bionic Woman #1 comic reviewThe Angels are sent by Charlie to infiltrate a laboratory and retrieve the secrets of a former government program that have fallen into the private sector. Their client, the original inventor, wants the plans returned to him. Easy, peasy, right? Trouble is, the people in control of the new business have ties to OSI and have brought in their own security. Jaime Summers has very personal reasons for not wanting to see the technology which saved her life stolen by a trio of strangers.

Some of Dynamite Entertainment’s team-ups work better than others. This one seems like a natural match with both shows taking place at roughly the same time and featuring female leads. The comic also shakes things up by not using the original Angels, who are showcased in the ongoing title, but choosing a later team of Kris and Julie teaming up with Kelly.

While Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) and Jill (Farrah Fawcett) show up as new recruits, Sabrina (Kate Jackson) takes on the role of a nurse. Even if the episode hadn’t started with revealing the killer to the audience, the sadistic Drill Sgt. Billings (L.Q. Jones) is the obvious suspect. He doesn’t take to kindly to people snooping through his office as Kelly learns when he sabotages her gas mask during a training exercise. Later, Jill learns the same lesson when she is taken prisoner by the soldier as his ticket off the base.
