Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten #30

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten #30Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten comes to a close by concluding the “Own It” story arc and having the Scoobies come together once more to stop a big bad. In the battle against D’Hoffryn our heroes find an unexpected ally as the vengeance demon discovers he may have made the new Anya a little too well. Granting her boss’ wish, Anya is able not only to satiate her own need for vengeance but also give Buffy and her pals a fighting chance.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Witch / Teacher's Pet

Following the series’ two-part premiere, creator Joss Whedon and his writing staff made a conscious effort to show that vampires aren’t the only threats drawn to the Hellmouth which Buffy will be forced to battle. In both “Witch” and “Teacher’s Pet” new threats come from unexpected places. Along with giving us Buffy’s limited time as a Sunnydale cheerleader, “Witch” introduces Amy Madison (Elizabeth Anne Allen) who would go on to be famously know as “Amy the rat” for a large chunk of Buffy’s time on television. Here Amy is a victim of her mother (Robin Riker) who has stolen Amy’s body and attacked other cheerleaders in an attempt to make the squad and relive her glory days.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten #28

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten #28While the most interesting, and humorous, parts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten #28 are the interludes of Dawn and Xander dimension-hopping to find their way home, the latest issue also focuses on Buffy and Spike working through their relationship issues while finding a way to prevent the threat of the super-powered D’Hoffryn.

Facing defeat and rejection in their separate lives, both Willow and Giles will return to the fold (along with a few more familiar faces before the final panel). As with the end of Season Four, the issue mends together the torn fabric of Buffy and her friends just in the nick of time to set-up an united front against the big bad.
