That leaves things open for the odd man, er Ghost, out. On his birthday, Ivory takes his friend camping to search for the beast who killed him. The set up allows the comic to explore both the idea of ghosts and Matt himself (allowing us to see him before his death).

Leverage: Redemption - The Belly of the Beast Job

In one of the more interesting setups of the relaunched series, “The Belly of the Beast Job” features our team taking on a sexual predator of a music producer (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) but keeps them mostly in the background allowing the guest-stars to take over center stage when the naive Jenna (Emily Hall) gets hired for the new assistant position that their plans relied on. Working their way around less access than they planned, Leverage gives Jenna the proper nudges at the right time to lead her to uncover the truth about her boss and expose him, and his crooked business partner (Gail Rastorfer), to the world.

Wonder Woman #12

After the disappointment of last month’s Absolute Power tie-in I wasn’t particularly looking forward to more of the same. However, by offering us the unusual partnership of Wonder Woman and Damian Wayne who team-up to try and get answers out of Captain Boomerang of all people, Wonder Woman #12 turns out to be an unexpected joy to read.

Flashback Friday takes us back to another adventure of the Archaeologists of the Impossible. There are better issues of Planetary but I don’t know if there’s a cooler issue than Planetary #3 which sends Elijah Snow, Jakita Wagner, and the Drummer to Hong Kong to investigate the ghost of a murdered cop seeking vengeance killing criminals with brutal efficiency. The issue continues to showcase how any kind of story can be a Planetary story and works in a panel to remind us how freakin’ cool Jakita Wagner is.
