Roger Kynard “Roky” Erickson was a rock-and-roll icon. As the frontman for the 13th Floor Elevators he was one of the early creators of psychadelic music, but an arrest and three year stint in a mental asylum changed everything; his career, family, and life slowly disolved into a downwold spiral, leaving him crazed and forgotten. The new documentary examines Roky’s past and his life now as his brother returns home after ten years desperate to reach the man he once was. Check out the official site. The film opens in a short-run limited release on Friday and will be available on DVD July 10.
