- Title: Out of Darkness

Set during the Paleolithic Age, Out of Darkness follows a small band of wanderers (Chuku Modu, Kit Young, Safia Oakley-Green, Iola Evans, Luna Mwezi, and Arno Lüning) on the new shore struggling in their search for food and shelter who find themselves hunted by an unseen enemy who begins picking off the group one by one.
While the characters are pretty basic archetypes such as warrior, outside, coward, etc., writer/director Andrew Cumming‘s film is a solid thriller making the most of the barren landscape and limited tools the humans have to defend themselves with.
The film’s look, including the dense fog that appears in several crucial scenes, works fairly well in keeping our monster out of sight for much of the film. There’s also a little more meat on the bone than your average thriller with a bit of social commentary thrown in as well.
