- Title: Psych – Season Seven
- wiki: link
The Seventh Season of Psych brings changes to Santa Barbara as Shawn (James Roday) and Juliet‘s (Maggie Lawson) relationship gets serious, Juliet learns the truth about Shawn’s psychic abilities, Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Marlowe (Kristy Swanson) get married, and Gus (Dulé Hill) gets a girlfriend (Parminder Nagra). The season also ends on a cliffhanger with Shawn and Gus being fired as consultants and Harris Trout (Anthony Michael Hall) stepping-in to take over as the SBPD’s new head honcho following Chief Vick’s (Kirsten Nelson) suspension.
Highlights from the season include Shawn trying to help Gus cover-up his apparent involvement in a murder (in one of the series’ best episodes), Henry‘s (Corbin Bernsen) unscheduled Mexican vacation with Juliet’s untrustworthy stepfather Lloyd (Jeffrey Tambor), the mystery behind Juliet’s new roommate, and an extended-cut of the series’ 100th episode which reunites several of the cast members of Clue (Lesley Ann Warren, Christopher Lloyd, and Martin Mull) for a murder mystery in the style of the 80’s film.
Other episodes include Shawn running for mayor of Santa Barbera, a Blair Witch-style hunt for Bigfoot with local film students (Kate Rogal, Alex Enriquez), Shawn and Gus exposing Rachael’s son Max (Mateen Devji) to murder at the circus, and the season opener which resolves the cliffhanger as Shawn becomes increasingly unstable while searching for the man who shot his father.
The three-disc set includes all 14 episodes from the season (but not the separately-released Psych: The Musical), deleted scenes, a gag reel, psychouts, and commentary for five of the episodes from creator Steve Franks, executive producers Chris Henze and Kelly Kulchak, writers Andy Berman, Todd Harthan, Carlos Jacott, and Brittany Hilgers, and director David Crabtree.
