Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles takes a look back at the 30 year run of the Australian children’s music group with interviews from original members Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Greg Page, and Jeff Fatt along with others who stepped in over the years to keep the brand going strong. Having released multiple Platinum albums, the group are combination of The Beatles and Mr. Rogers bringing music and entertainment to preschool audiences over video, television, concerts and even their own movie.
The documentary from Sally Aitken and Fraser Grut covers the formation of the group, their slow rise to fame, becoming a worldwide success greater than anyone could have foreseen, and in later years dealing with health issues of members and bridging the gap to keep the group going year after year and offer more representation in later lineups. Hot Potato manages to provide both personal insight from the group, merging new interviews and classical clips, while at the same time celebrating its challenges, impact, and accomplishments over three decades.
