- Title: Wonder Woman #12

After the disappointment of last month’s Absolute Power tie-in I wasn’t particularly looking forward to more of the same. However, by offering us the unusual partnership of Wonder Woman and Damian Wayne who team-up to try and get answers out of Captain Boomerang of all people, Wonder Woman #12 turns out to be an unexpected joy to read.
The issue focuses on the back-and-forth between Diana and Damian taking turns to use love or fear to get Boomerang to give up the secret location of Amanda Waller‘s prison. Neither is all that successful in their methods, with Boomerang laughing and swearing in their faces to their mutual frustration, but their differing ideologies allows for some fun conversation and competition between the pair along with tapping into the heart of the comic that got a bit lost in last month’s tie-in. And, even if you aren’t following the event, this issue stands on its own with both its humor and heart.
