Opening with Wonder Woman and Etta Candy fighting off a group of super-villains and bounty hunters (including Cheshire, Plastique, Cat Eye, and Abolith), Wonder Woman #29 eventually reveals the reason for the attack and why someone wants the Amazon, dead or alive.
Discovering that her demi-god nature could include answers to stop countless disease as well as possibly used to weaponize super-human soldiers, Diana is forced to do some soul searching. What is her purpose in Man’s World? Even if the men who wish to dissect her have evil intentions, does the good that might come from those experiments outweigh the cost?
I’m going to take a wild guess that the answer which the arc will eventually conclude will be a resounding No. However, the moral conundrum does offer a different kind of challenge for the Princess of the Amazons along with a entirely different view about what it means to be a hero. Worth a look.
