There may not be a mystery to solve in The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #9 but there’s still plenty of fun to be had when Mystery, Inc. find themselves at a heroes gala without any other heroes. It seems all the heroes in town are busy putting an appearance in at Gotham City Comic-Con (the meta of which the comic doesn’t attempt to explain) leaving the charity gala ripe for the picking by not one but two different villains.
First we get Kite-Man whose attempt is easily rebuffed by the more prepared Weather Wizard who would have succeeded if not for those meddling kids (and their new pal Kite-Man). Fun all around her from Batman‘s despair at being dragged to Comic-Con to Fred attempting to convince Alfred to take the missing Shaggy and Scooby‘s role as distraction and Shaggy’s words of wisdom to Kite-Man leading him to help the gang in stopping the Weather Wizard.
