- Title: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1

A new run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles begins here. In what launches as the first part of a year-long arc, after some time apart, the Turtles are scattered around the world. Our first issue is set around only Raphael who has spent the last several weeks (months?) in prison. Partly punishing himself, and also doing a little work under the radar for the warden, Raphael keeps his head down for the most part (other than preventing a group of prisoners from escaping).
The status quo is disrupted by ninja infiltrating the prison, killing the warden and framing Raph for the crime, forcing Raphael on the run. Seems like something’s afoot (heh, get it?) as these events act as the catalyst to push Raph back into the world and search out his brothers. While he’s not my favorite Turtle, it’s still a solid issue and I’d expect the next few issues to be very similar to this one with writer Jason Aaron focusing on each of the Turtles individually before eventually bringing them together and heading them back home.
