Honey, I shrunk the Web-Head! Wayback Wednesday takes us back to another classic issue of the Web-Slinger in Spidey Super Stories #23. The main story involves Spider-Man battling the Green Goblin and being shrunk down to size due to the Goblin’s latest weapon. Turns out Spidey is heroic at any size and still finds a way to stop the Goblin’s crime spree and return to normal size.
We get a pair of back-up stories, equally as goofy. The longer of the two involves the Puppet Master taking control of the Thing who he uses to commit robberies and cause havoc. There’s a classic tie-in with Peter bailing on an upset Mary Jane to become Spider-Man. This is backed-up by a one-page “Meet the Thing” introduction as well. The other tale, which is even wackier, involves Spidey quickly stopping the diamond-obsessed Queen of Diamonds from her series of robberies (involving stealing a diamond ring during a proposal and snagging diamonds with a butterfly net) in order to get to a baseball game.
