- Title: Spider-Woman #1
- Comic Vine: link
- Writer: Steve Foxe
- Artist: Carola Borelli
Spinning out of Spider-Woman getting cut out of the Web and Life and Destiny (okay, I’ll be honest, I didn’t follow this storyline and I’m not really all that clear on the fallout of it other than it seems to have cut Jess out of shared consciousness for a bit) and then being returned to it, and part of the new ongoing crossover Gang War (gangs of villains in New York fighting for control, or something like that?), Jessica Drew gets a new series which begins with Jess tracking down Hydra (and looking for a son who apparently has been removed from mass consciousness and/or existence due to the trouble with the Web).
That’s quite a bit of baggage for a series to launch with, but Spider-Woman #1 works well enough to garner interest. We also get cameos from both Carol Danvers, checking in on her friend, and Spider-Man recruiting allies for this Gang War storyline which plays into Jess’ desire to take down Diamondback who illudes her in this issue thanks to help from from Hydra henchmen.
