Planetary #4

Planetary #4

Throwback Thursday takes us back to another adventure of the Archaeologists of the Impossible. Because it pushes our characters a bit to the side, Planetary #4 isn’t one of my favorite issues of the series but it is certainly notable in how it is used to flesh out and explore the universe where Planetary works. For Hark Corporation investigator Jim Wilder everything changes when he steps on an alien platform at ground zero of a demolished building and finds himself given the opportunity of a lifetime.

Discovering a crashed ship capable of shifting realities through the Bleed, but in desperate need of a crew, Jim accepts the job and also attempting to convince others to do it as well. Given how the situation plays out, there’s little for our characters to do here, although Elijah Snow asserting himself and announcing Planetary will help the man on his crazy quest is a notable domino in the arc which will take us eventually to the Fourth Man (and Jakita Wagner‘s commentary about the Drummer is quite fun as well).
