- Title: Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps #4
- Comic Vine: link
- Writer: Robert Venditti
- Artist: Rafa Sandoval
The comic’s title character is mostly absent in the latest issue as following Hal Jordan‘s capture at the hands of several members of the Sinestro Corps the fate of the most recognized Green Lantern is questionable going into next month’s issue. Unable to confront his former pupil turned nemesis, Sinestro makes due with introducing the captured Guy Gardner to the Fear Engine which helps power his Corps.
With Jordan missing in action and unconscious in the only panel in which he appears (in a sequence that needs some explanation – seriously, WTF is going on?), Guy gets a little more coverage while the end of the issue also suggests that John Stewart and the rest of the Green Lantern Corps have grown tired of licking their wounds in hiding and are prepared to search for their missing GL and face whatever the universe has in store for them.
Even with the comic missing its headline star, there’s still enough here for fans of Guy Gardner to pick up this issue as his appearance allows Sinestro to give us a few clues to the villain’s plan for his Corps and the universe. Worth a look.
