The Central Power Battery is offline, leaving Green Lanterns stranded across space without the use of their rings. While much of Green Lantern #3 makes use of John Stewart on a planet in the Dark Sector making due without the use of his ring, the rest of the comic catches up with other Lanterns taking us to Oa where Sojourner Mullein has returned from her mission in the Far Sector to try and rally what remains of the Corps.
In recent years various Green Lantern titles have created a small number of Lanterns with “different” rings. Sojourner is one, Teen Lantern‘s gauntlet is another, and halfway across the universe appearing in cameo from Earth is the only Green Lantern who ever forged his own ring.
The storyline looks to take advantage of these unique circumstances to provide and intriguing collection of Lanterns, while also offering stories of other Lanterns making due without their rings. I’m also happy to see Sojourner finally make it into a core Green Lantern title.
