Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the 1980s when knowing was half the battle. While the Joes hold Cobra Commander in a hastily-assembled base high in the Rocky Mountains, one loyal soldier (a certain ninja clad in white, still relatively new to the comic) will work on freeing him, as Destro, Major Bludd, and the Baroness plot to take over the terrorist organization in his absence.
G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #24 is notable for several appearances of fan favorites in the Marvel Comic. Along with the return of Storm Shadow, who alone sets out to save Cobra Commander (even giving up his own glider for the Commander to get to safety), the issue also marks the first time we see Firefly and, in the final panel of the comic, Zartan. For fans of Storm Shadow, this issue is worth tracking down as the ninja povides all the distraction the Joes can handle helping to enable Cobra Commander’s escape.
