Having decided to join the Imperial Schism, a faction in favor of replacing Emperor Palpatine for the good of the Galactic Empire, Darth Vader finds himself on Tython looking raid a former Jedi Temple of precious Kyberite. The issue has two main pieces that make it an interesting read, and for those who haven’t been following this Schism storyline (like me) there’s still plenty to enjoy. First we get the loyal Enric Pryde and his discussions with others in the party who lack his steadfast loyalty to the Dark Lord of Sith with their own, less glorious, examples of Vader’s actions.
The other piece of the story worthy of note is the confessional hidden within the temple which holds Force memories of Jedi including a young Jedi Knight fresh off his defeat at Cloud City whose emotions to his father are complicated and unsure providing Darth Vader with something he never expected to find on a barren world far from the Empire or the Rebellion: hope.
