- Title: Darkwing Duck #2
- Comic Vine: link
- Writer: Amanda Deibert
- Artist: Carlo Lauro
The second issue of the new Darkwing Duck comic from Dynamite Entertainment returns with another classic villain as our hero, Goasalyn, and Launchpad run into Quackerjack and his slew of evil mechanical toys while visiting the local toy store. The issue is full of Darkwing fighting off toys, primarily a wave of rubber duckies, while struggling to keep Gosalyn safe (more on that later) and finally subdue Quackerjack. It’s just the kind of wacky fun fans of the character expect and I’ll admit to enjoying Lauro’s art more in this issue.
While it works as a solo one-off adventure, the epilogue of Darkwing Duck #2 offers the retirement (likely short) of Darkwing when Drake decides he needs to stop his super-heroing to keep his daughter safe. The issue is also notable for a number of Darwking Duck toys (yes please) and insight into just how Drake supports his family with no obvious source of income.
