- Title: Black Widow & Hawkeye #1
- Comic Vine: link
- Writer: Stephanie Phillips
- Artist: Paolo Villanelli
In a story told through non-linear progression, Black Widow & Hawkeye features the Black Widow (with her new symbiote) in search of the missing, and presumed dead Clint Barton. Hunted by both Russia and America, Hawkeye is wanted for the very public murder of the Russian Minister… by an arrow. To further complicate matters, once Natasha catches up with him, Clint admits to pulling the bow.
Black Widow & Hawkeye #1 is a fun introduction to what I would expect to be a short series. This is my first look at Nat with a symbiote and, like Clint, I’m a bit on the fence about whether or not this is a good idea. I did really enjoy the story working Bobbi into the storyline, if only for a cameo to provide a bit of intel to the Black Widow, and the art by Paolo Villanelli is solid. Despite Clint’s wishes to be left alone, we can be sure that’s not happening. Natasha’s obviously all-in to prove her friend’s innocence (regardless to what he has to say on the matter).
