- Title: Batman: The Audio Adventures #1 (of 7)
- Comic Vine: link
- Writer: Dennis McNicholas
- Artist: Anthony Marques
Spinning out of the radio drama of the same name, the first issue of the new seven-issue mini-series finds Batman on the hunt for those responsible for the Black Market Massacre and searching the city for an ancient artifact. As someone who never watched the HBO Max show, I can only assume that the comic may feel a bit more substantial to those already exposed to this version of Batman.
That said, I did enjoy the art of Batman: The Audio Adventures #1 and the comic has a nice nod to Batman: The Animated Series‘ odd pairing of Killer Croc and Baby-Doll although that didn’t play into the somewhat unfocused story so far. The comic is far from a must-read, and there’s not a lot to sell me on a larger storyline but fans may still get some enjoyment out of the issue.
