Throwback Tuesday returns to the concluding chapter of one of the first comic books I ever owned. Although I read Batman #323 as a kid, it would take the better part of two decades before I eventually tracked down Batman #324 which concluded the two-part tale of Catman getting the upper-hand on both Batman and Catwoman.
We begin with the narrow escape of Batman and Catwoman from Catman’s death trap with the pair catching up with Catman in Greece where he plans to sell the artifacts, possibly the only things which can save Selina’s terminal and purposefully vague medical condition, to a businessman who double-crosses Catman just as the heroes arrive.
The follow-up is more than a little awkward with the introduction of Catwoman’s condition and the sudden trip to Greece. That said, there’s plenty that works including the opening death trap and the apparent death of Catman which heals Selina and would be referenced further with Catman’s return in Detective Comics #509.
