The last of the Big Three has died.  Science Fiction author Arthur C. Clarke passed away early Wednesday morning local time in Sri Lanka.  For years Clarke, Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov made up the “Big Three” of Science Fiction writing.  Over a career spanning decades Clarke wrote close to 100 books and many more stories and articles most notably Childhood’s End and 2001: A Space Odyssey.  George Roddenberry credited Clarke’s work as inspiration for the original Star Trek.  Universally loved and appreciated, he will be missed.  Check out the Full Diagnosis to read Isaac’s Asimov‘s essay about his friend from his autobiograpy I. Here’s a little more comic book goodness for you courtesy of G4’s Fresh Ink.  From the floor of the recent Wondercon here’s the always enjoyable Blair Butler and her interview with comic writer/artist/creator Brian Wood discussing his recent projects, his work on Grand Theft Auto, and what it’s like at a convention.

In honor of Booster Gold getting his own series again, and travelling back in time to save the life of his best bud Ted Kord (AKA the Blue Beetle) here’s a fun little PSA from Blinky Productions starring the pair in an attempt to stop children from smoking.  Great stuff!

Marcel Marceau, the famous French Mime died this past Saturday evening surrounded by friends and family.  For half a century Marceau performed and became the best known mime of his era in his guise of Bip the Clown which was in part modeled after the silent films of Charlie Chaplin.  Learn more about the man and his career on his Wikipedia page.
